Helldivers 2 is proving to be a bigger success than anyone could’ve imagined, and rightfully so since the title has brought back the element of joy into games. Gamer friends across the globe are coming together to liberate Super Earth and fight for democracy, but there’s something that’s bothering larger groups of pals.
Ever been in a situation where three friends are walking on an extremely narrow footpath, so naturally, two of them walk together while the third has to lag behind? That is how it basically feels when Helldivers 2 only lets four players join a game at once.
Helldivers 2 Fans Are Cool With Not Getting a PVP Mode, but They Want Something Else
Most of the fandom has made its peace with the fact that Arrowhead Game Studios intended for its latest video game to stay a co-op title, as there are no signs of a PVP mode in Helldivers 2. That is completely fine, though, as players are done requesting the developer for that option and have now shifted their focus onto much simpler things.
Gamer groups that comprise more than four friends are facing a massive issue with the game, since the four-player cap in Helldivers 2 always means that at least one pal has to be left out.
That sentiment has led a fan on the Helldivers subreddit to ask Arrowhead Game Studios for just one small favor: add a six-player co-op mode in the game so that more friends can be included in each battle to defend Super Earth.
Since Helldivers 2 is primarily a co-op title, it should not be that big of a deal for the developer to let more players join simultaneously, and considering the studio and its CEO, Johan Pilestedt’s, recent track record, it may not take too long for Helldivers 2 to implement this suggestion.
Helldivers 2 Fans Agree That Raids Would Be More Than Welcome
Aside from wanting a six-player co-op mode, Helldivers 2 fans are also looking forward to potential raid events that would bring the community even closer together as they fight towards a common objective. Calling that concept one of their “biggest dreams for this game,” another gamer noted that although it could be a technical challenge for Arrowhead Game Studios, “a 8 player raid taking on giant bosses together is just too damn amazing to pass up.”
Imagine rounding up the greatest soldiers Super Earth has ever witnessed and hitting the bugs right in their home world, taking care of the problem at its root level.
Helldivers 2 fans should definitely remain hopeful for these features to make their way into the game, as Arrowhead and Pilestedt are both quite attentive to community requests.
