Arrowhead Game Studios released a huge patch update for PlayStation 5 and PC to fix the issues. However, it turns that the latest patch has broken one of the items that was working fine before the patch and fans are now wanting it to reverted to its original pre-patch version.

The Helldivers 2 patch 1.000.400 addressed several issues and bugs that players had been facing for a long time. The patch fixed issues like crashes, balanced weapons and stratagems, and more. While this was appreciated by fans, they have now noticed that the ballistic shield is now broken after this patch.

One player took to the r/Helldivers subreddit and said that they tested the Ballistic shield after the patch and “it has gotten worse.” They added that the latest patch brought a bug that has made it unplayable. This includes players colliding with the shield when knocked back, dealing 30% HP.

The shield deals 40-100% of the player’s HP, instantly killing them. They also said that when players use Stims to heal and when players move the shield away to hear due to the animation, they get “shot to death the moment you use it.” The player added that it was fixed in previous patch but is now broken again.

Several other issues include the uncontrollable sliding of exosuit and players need to remove the shield to control. If the shield is on left arm, the character looks right and doesn’t block any attack from the front. The shield colliding also sometimes pushes players out of the map.

Fans Are Not Okay With This and Want the Shield Reverted

The player said that there may be many other issues other than the ballistic shield, but the developer should revert it back to its previous version as it was good before and now unplayable, adding that “there was absolutely no need to fix anything and now it’s just sad to look at.”

The majority of the players expressed their disappointment with Arrowhead and said that they were tired of the issues coming back after they were fixed before. One player said that the patch added crash fixes but they have crashed more times after the patch than before.

Another player added, “They pull code from the oldest branch in the archive and called it a day.” The community manager at Arrowhead Game Studios did respond to the player, saying that they are aware of this issue and are working on it.

This means that there could be a fix deployed soon, but until then, players will have to put up with the current version of the shield.
