Helldivers 2 may have been on many gamers’ radars before its release, but not even developer Arrowhead itself would’ve imagined the kind of massive heights that it’s managing to reach every day. It seems like there’s absolutely no stopping the third-person shooter, as more players are joining the battle to see what the hype is about.

For a live-service game to perform this well in today’s landscape is applaudable, considering how other similar titles released recently have failed to fare as well.

From Xbox’s flagship franchise Halo to Bungie’s popular Destiny 2, Helldivers 2 is defeating numerous games by rapidly climbing the Steam charts. The next target is the first surprise hit of 2024: Palworld.

There’s No Stopping Helldivers 2 on the Steam Charts

Helldivers 2 has already passed Halo and Destiny 2 on the Steam charts, and it keeps climbing higher.

Although Halo should not be in the same conversation as other Steam giants as it is not even in the top most played titles on the platform, just for comparison’s sake, the Master Chief Collection currently has under 5,000 players in-game, with a 24-hour peak of just over 10,000 players.

It is not remotely close to the number of gamers that Arrowhead’s title has managed to achieve in just two weeks of release, as the Master Chief Collection has an all-time peak of 161,024 players, which was recorded four years ago.

A better competitor would definitely be Bungie’s free-to-play title, but even that seems to be no match for Arrowhead Game Studios.

It is absolutely crazy to see the Destiny sequel not even in the top 35 most played games on Steam, as it currently sits at the 37th spot on the charts with almost 31,000 players in-game at the time of writing. Even with an all-time peak of 316,750 players that was recorded nearly a year ago, and despite being a free video game, Bungie is struggling to pull in the numbers that Helldivers 2 is so seamlessly managing.

Arrowhead Game Studios’ latest effort finds itself in the 3rd spot on the charts, with more than 309k players currently playing.

Arrowhead Game Studios’ Game Currently Has More In-Game Players Than Palworld

Palworld may have a higher all-time peak than Arrowhead Game Studios' title, but the latter currently has more in-game players.

Arrowhead Game Studios may have already beaten the all-time peaks of both 343 Industries and Bungie, but Pocketpair is still standing in the way with the extraordinary peak of 2,101,867 players. However, this was recorded 23 days ago, when the Helldivers sequel was not even out yet, and considering the fact that the game had more in-game players than Palworld at the time of writing, this speaks volumes.

With Pocketpair’s players decreasing and Arrowhead’s community growing with each passing minute, the latter has actually managed to surpass the former thanks to a higher number of concurrent players.

All it has to do now is reach the all-time peak of Palworld, which may not be too difficult to pull off if things keep going this smoothly for Arrowhead.
