Helldivers 2 has been a breakout success for Arrowhead Game Studios and SIE in the live-service genre. The game impressed everybody, from fans to critics, and also being seen as a big contender for the Game of the Year award.
However, these last couple of months haven’t been so kind to Arrowhead, the game, or the players as there has been a lot of issues. The developer has now dropped a hotfix, fixing a few issues including one highly broken weapon.
Helldivers 2 Hotfix Fixes the Most Broken Weapon in the Game
Arrowhead Game Studios recently released a big update, bringing massive fixes and other quality of life improvements. However, the patch broke more than than it fixed including the FAF-14 Spear which caused game crashes when players tried to aim or simple tried to use it.
The developer has now announced that it has issued a hotfix in the game that fixes several issues, including stability fixes, and other general issues. But what has made fans excited again is the crash fix for the FAF-14 Spear.

The Spear is one of the most popular weapons in Helldivers 2 and a large number of players use this. However, the crash issue with the weapon forced players to use alternative options and they weren’t happy. Several players had complained about this and the community manager had assured them that a fix will be coming soon.

Now that the developer has brought the update, players who have missed out on the weapon for a short yet important time, will be glad to know that they can use the weapon again. Fans have shown their excitement with one player saying, “Happy days! *Grabs the Spear*.”
The Hotfix Fixes More Than Just the Spear Issue
Another crash issue has been fixed with this update that made the game crash when players with unique Hellpod patterns left during Hellpod launch cutscenes. This was another headache for the players but not anymore. There are several other misc. fixes that are now live with the latest patch.
These include the fix for corrupted text showing “?” for some characters when the Traditional Chinese language was selected. The Plasma Punisher being unable to shoot out of the SH-32 Shield Generator Pack and the FX-12 Shield Generator also has been fixed.
The Quasar cannon now has the correct change to its heat when on hot and cold planets. The issue that made Spore Spewer appear purple on some planets has been fixed.
The pink question marks in missions on the planets will no longer appear. A few other issues have also been fixed, apart from the above-mentioned. Arrowhead has been consistent with post-launch support for the title but it seems like the team is upping the game to deliver what it has promised fans.
