Helldivers 2 has had a bit of a rough ride of late, but despite this, it currently maintains an overwhelmingly positive review. There were always moans and gripes from players who had issues with some small niggle in the game or wanted to see one aspect added in the future.
The title from Arrowhead Game Studios really did take the world by storm when it was first released, and although player numbers may have dipped since then, the company is always working hard to listen to player feedback. However, it was on social media recently that one exchange between players raised more than one eyebrow.
Helldivers 2 and Call of Duty, Two Peas In A Pod?
![Could one moment in Helldivers 2 really compare to Call of Duty?](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/26110731/helldivers-2-62-1024x576.jpg)
When you think of similar franchises, perhaps Helldivers 2 and Call of Duty would not be the first two names that would spring up. Some people may suggest Pokemon and Digimon, or perhaps Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, as another example.
Nevertheless, the recent comparison was made on Social Media site X. It was noted by one player that the sample rock was providing ample cover, allowing them to go ahead unnoticed by the searchlights of the overhead patrols.
No doubt many people will be left scratching their heads as to what the link between this game and the Activision title is. Well, it was the reply to this initial post on Social Media that really put the two together.
The suggestion is that the sample rock is being used for cover to avoid being spotted by the gunships overhead, much like that in Call of Duty whilst prone in the tall grass. Is it a bit of a stretch to compare the two games based on this one event? Perhaps, but no doubt many eagle-eyed players would have noted the classic mission in question.
What Is the Call of Duty Mission Referenced?

For those of you who may not have experienced it back in the day when it first came out or played it since, the mission from the popular Activision franchise is ‘All Ghillied Up’ and was first seen in Call of Duty 4 and then again in Modern Warfare Remastered. Take note and check it out; it’s worth it.
It could be said that there are further similarities between the two franchises, as they have both been subject to a reduction in player numbers and have a demanding fanbase. However, it could be argued that Helldivers fans are less so.
Comparisons aside, both franchises are still working hard to get fans onside and with the latest patch from Arrowhead, it was hoped that this addressed more of the issues. The key for both is that they maintain longevity without becoming stale.
