Arrowhead Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt took to X/Twitter in search of a “really good” weapon concept artist who is looking for a job. He added that ideally anyone with some military service, shooting skills, knowledge about how weapons function and operate, and must be a stellar artist.

While many looking for jobs shared their weapon concepts and asked how to apply and how they could be considered, some fans saw this as an opportunity to request from developers the weapons they want in the game, and it has led to some very interesting demands.

Many just doodled some weapons and guns with “pew pew” sound symbols, and some shared guns seen in films that could help them take down alien bugs and terrifying robots. A player asked the developer to add melee weapons, while another requested a grenade launcher with a revolving cylinder

Another player even asked for a feline with beams, but that’s just too much for a co-op title. A player also said that a portable minigun would be a great addition to the game. Another fan requested a shotgun axe, and one wanted a light sword. Not saber, sword.

While fans have utilized the opportunity to request their favorite weapons, many have also shared the concept weapon art that they have worked on. Many of the artists have also served in the military, and the concept art looks pretty amazing and could be great if the weapons came to life in Helldivers 2

The applicants include people who claimed to have worked on games like Halo and Doom. Several fans shared their art, some sci-fi and some military, and all of them look pretty neat. The weapons include pistols, assault rifles, snipers, cannons, beam cannons, and many more. Players even shared their armor concepts that they think should be in Helldivers 2.

The weapons in Helldivers 2 are currently limited as players look for more weapons to unlock and equip against their enemies. The developer has started adding new weapons, but it seems like more powerful weapons could be coming to the game sometime in the future.
