Helldivers 2 is an online multiplayer game set during the Second Galactic War shared across the PlayStation 5 and PC player base as they fight together. The video game had a great first few months until Sony Interactive Entertainment jumped the gun and inadvertently sabotaged the game for reasons that involved online moderation.
The gaming community is full of talented people with different skill sets; unfortunately, some players use their knowledge for nefarious purposes like cheesing the latest major order. The game developers did not encourage this activity and decided to make the tough decision to prevent this from spreading.
The Helldivers 2 Community Struck a Nerve After the Latest Major Order
Every successful game has its fair share of blunders and mishaps. Sony Interactive Entertainment made a hefty mistake after the publisher enforced its latest mandate of requiring PC players to link their accounts to an active PlayStation Network account a few months after the game was released on PC.
This drove a wedge between the developers and the gaming community. The gaming community expressed concern about failing to meet the current major orders of Helldivers 2 which is not ideal for a live service project. Hackers made the most out of the situation and fiddled with the game until they were caught red-handed by the developers.

The game’s quality is declining along with the active daily player count and some players have noticed that the bugs and other issues are becoming more prevalent and dominant. Certain enemy types are behaving uncharacteristically and far from how the developers intended making it a nuisance for the remaining players to deal with.

Hackers cheesed the progress of the current major order, and the game developers had no choice but to step in and end this abuse. As explained by the above fan, this activity encourages cheating and counters the ideals and beliefs of director Johan Pilestedt.
The remaining players are unsatisfied with the game’s performance and ultimately decide to abandon their posts and allow enemy factions to take over distant planets. This is evidence of the gaming community’s lack of interest and care about fighting in the Second Galactic War any longer and hackers used this to fiddle with the game’s progress bar of the current major order.
The Latest Helldivers 2 Major Order Is a Major Headache and a Major Opportunity for Hackers
It is a shame to see a once-respected game become a cesspool for hackers and ruin the game for everyone else. The developers addressed all the observations and comments of the fans and promised they would make some changes and establish a new list of Helldivers 2 goals that will be ironed out in a few months.
The hackers tugged too hard, and the developers will not let this slide. This activity is offensive to all the hard work and efforts made by the people who made the game with a vision to deliver a satisfying multiplayer experience.
Fans have felt discouraged from playing after the recent Escalation of Freedom update ruined the experience, making it much more harrowing by nerfing the efficiency of primary firearms and making the experience anything but fun. The developers are too focused on fixing the wrong problem.
Hopefully, Arrowhead Game Studios will succeed with its plans to improve the game. The remaining players are still clinging to hope, this should motivate the game developers to meet their expectations halfway.
