Helldivers 2 is an online multiplayer game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. The game was a great first attempt for Sony to dip its toes into the live service structure of gaming and unite two platform users.
Bringing together players from the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms is no easy feat. The developers would often distribute major orders for the community to accomplish, unfortunately, recent problems and setbacks have taken a massive hit on the player count and it is time for the team to make adjustments.
The Latest Major Orders in Helldivers 2 Is Pushing Its Luck and Might Be Too Close for Comfort
Arrowhead Game Studios did a terrific job by incorporating ideas that worked for other successful live service games. However, the game is far from perfect. The Helldivers 2 player count is dwindling and the gaming community is slowly losing interest which is not ideal for a live service game and does not bode well for upcoming plans laid out by the game developers.
In times of war, it is important to have a tough army that is trained to do what they are told and the game is currently low on manpower which will make it hard for those who are left to pull through the latest major order. The players are not too confident with their odds of meeting the objectives with the short window provided as they are also short on men.

There is a strong likelihood that other players lost interest after the recent fiasco Sony caused and the developers have yet to recover fully. The modern gaming community has a short attention span, and if previous objectives are too repetitive or more of the same as older major orders with no major changes in the overall game is not helping the game developers.
Retaking planets in the game can be a tedious and time-consuming task. Some players refuse to go through the effort of fighting for various Helldivers 2 planets assigned by those in power, especially if there is some weird conspiracy surrounding it like the supply lines of the Automaton faction somehow magically reconnected after players spent hours making sure otherwise.
Helldivers 2 Major Orders Are a Major Headache for Hardcore Players
The window to complete the current major order is too short and it would take a miracle for the few players to meet it before the deadline. Arrowhead Game Studios should make adjustments to avoid applying unwanted pressure on the community and to dissuade them from leaving the game.
The developers can always increase the time for the players to realistically achieve the objective or decrease the number of planets that need liberating. There are easy solutions to this problem that do not require the community to grind for hours while other players are no longer pulling their weight.
The Second Galactic War is far from over and the developers need to change how they operate major orders with the active players remaining.
There is a chance that the few players will also lose interest if the objective is too much to bear. It is an endless cycle of Helldivers 2 planets from hostile forces. Something has to give in the end.
