Helldivers 2, the co-op shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios, has been out for over a month, but the hype around it is still how it was on day one. The game is only available for PlayStation 5 and PC, but Xbox players are begging the developer to launch on the platform.
Although that doesn’t seem to be happening for now, Microsoft’s first-party games releasing on PlayStation make it worth considering that the game could come to the platform. However, regardless of whether Helldivers 2 releases on Microsoft’s platform or not, the previously rumored Starfield might not be coming to PS5.
Starfield Might Not Come to PlayStation 5
There were several reports in early February 2024 that several of its games would be going third-party and exclusive titles may come to PlayStation and Nintendo. The rumored games included Starfield, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, the upcoming Indiana Jones game, and others.
Although the company later revealed that only Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, Pentiment, and Sea of Thieves are going multi-platform, the other two games would stay exclusive, players were thinking that it might come to PlayStation 5 sometime, but that isn’t likely.
The information was one-sided, and I haven't had updates on it.

A leaker, Silknigth, has recently revealed some things about several titles and was asked by a user on X/Twitter if Starfield will be coming to PlayStation 5, to which he replied, “The information was one-sided, and I haven’t had updates on it.” While it cannot be confirmed that the game will never make its way to Sony’s consoles, it is not happening any time soon.
The reports stated that the game would come to PlayStation 5 when the Shattered Space DLC releases later this year, but much hasn’t been known about it since Phil Spencer quashed the claims. There are some rumors that the game may be announced to release on PlayStation 5 during Summer Game Fest; players need to take it with a pinch of salt.
Fans Want Helldivers 2 to Release on Xbox
HD2 has been an immense success, with millions of players playing the game and fighting the aliens in the galactic war. However, fans are feeling left out and have been clamoring for the game to be released on the Microsoft’s platform. Players have started a petition that has been signed by more than 50k people so that the game can launch on the platforms.
Even Microsoft gaming head Phil Spencer has said that the game would have benefited if it had been released on all platforms, and it doesn’t help anybody that the game isn’t available on all platforms. Moreover, even PlayStation fans are asking Sony to bring the game to Microsoft’s platform so that they can play with their friends, which speaks volumes about the game’s success.
It cannot be said if the game will ever come to Microsoft’s platform, as no PlayStation 5 title has been released on the consoles, but there have been hints from Sony that it is considering going multi-platform with some games, so there’s always a possibility.
