In the Chaotic and fast-paced world of Helldivers 2, information always plays a significant role. With their latest patch update on June 13th, developers at Arrowhead added the visibility of Supply lines on the Galactic War map. This change was made after hearing feedback from the community.
The visibility of Supply Lines on the map helps improve the information flow through the whole community and they can co-ordinate their attacks or defense better. However, despite these changes, players are still finding it hard to communicate and might not be able to complete their objectives.
Helldivers 2 Challenges with Communication in Major Orders
Supply Lines in Helldivers 2 are the hidden routes through which the information of different planets flows. Information like from which planets the attack is coming from, based on these details, players will then go and defend these planets to liberate.
After hearing the community feedback, with Patch 01.000.400, Arrowhead decided to make the Supply Lines visible on the Galactic War Map. Since the release of the patch on June 13th, veteran players have been super happy and excited, they were able to guide their group through several defenses and liberated many planets.

This was not the case with new or casual players, who wanted to help or learn more about the Major Orders’ objectives. The number of details found on the Galactic War Map was always a little hectic, now with Supply Lines, players are struggling to understand or complete objectives. This has led players to not be able to help effectively (on correct planets) and are on the verge of losing a planet.

Given the limited time on the Major Orders, communicating these coordinated attacks and defense has become a major issue for players. Without a proper way to relay the message, even the most well-equipped squad won’t be able to save the whole planet on their own.
The Immediate Need for a Proper In-game Communication System
Arrowhead Game Studios is renowned for its commitment to listening to the community feedback. It showed with the latest patch where they made Supply Lines Visible in the Galactic War map. Yet, they have not shown any indication of creating an in-game communication system that helps the whole community.
The need for a communication system in Helldivers 2 is really necessary as the player base is diverse and spread across the world. Sometimes, keeping communication and maintaining the game’s fast pace together can be a daunting challenge.
In the end, while the addition of Supply Lines on the Galactic War Map in the latest update is a major step forward for Helldivers 2, the journey towards making a perfect communication system in Major Orders still continues.
As players come together to defeat enemies and liberate planets, it is important to know that victory is not just about firepower, but it’s a combination of unity, strategy, and communication.
