It was certainly very strange to see that Hive Lords were not a part of the Terminid faction in Helldivers 2 since these massive units were difficult to deal with in the first game. There have been various theories regarding these Hive Lords and possible mutations that were triggered due to the Terminid Control System missions that fans were introduced to in March. Now, it seems like all those theories were true.
The latest Major Order in Helldivers 2 is asking players to disable the Terminid Control System on Erata Prime, Fenrir III, and Turing as massive bug outbreaks have been caused. There is speculation that this is a buildup for the introduction of Hive Lord as fans have also spotted its molts scattered on Terminid planets.
Helldivers 2 players are sure that Hive Lords are on their way
The latest Helldivers 2 Major Order has confirmed that massive bug outbreaks are taking place within the Terminid faction. In order to tackle the situation, players have been asked to disable the Terminid Control System on Erata Prime, Fenrir III, and Turing. A Reddit user named ZLUCremisi shared the picture of the Major Order in the r/Helldivers2 subreddit, claiming that this was an expected outcome.
If you are not up to date with the Helldivers 2 lore, two months ago, players completed the Terminid Control Systems to wipe out Terminid but there were concerns that these missions may have triggered a mutation, and more particularly, fans believed that it would lead to the introduction of Hive Lords. With the latest Major Order, fans are 100% sure that Hive Lords will appear on the battlefield soon.
Helldivers 2 players have spotted molts of Hive Lords on Terminid planets
Hive Lords were introduced as a part of the Terminid faction in 2015’s Helldivers. Dealing with these giant sandworms is quite difficult as they have the ability to perforate the entire crust of a planet with tunnels, making way for Bug Hives. Since they mostly navigate under the ground, it is very difficult to take them down.
Over the past few weeks, many players have shared on social media that they found molts of Hive Lords on Terminid planets, concluding that the tremors that players were experiencing were due to Hive Lords digging up in the planet’s crust. Arrowhead Game Studios has been constantly improving the game using players’ feedback and with the introduction of Hive Lords, things will get far more chaotic on the battlefield.
Helldivers 2 is available on PlayStation 5 and Windows.
