One of the main and most attractive mechanics of Helldivers 2 is its famous Major Orders, which give all players the same objective to fulfill. In the past, one of these orders was to choose between saving a hospital full of sick children or completing a certain mission to get a new weapon.
The community decided to save the children. However, it appears that its choice was not the best one, as the studio is now retaliating by introducing a new, potentially devastating enemy weapon.

After the community didn’t seem satisfied with a recent update, the studio is finally responding to this and will release a wave of new content next month.
Escalation of Freedom, the Helldivers 2 update, will introduce a new difficulty, enemies, mission types, and most importantly, weapons for the Automatons to wield in battle. The trailer has left fans quite frightened.
Fans are quite surprised by the incredible arsenal that the Automatons will receive in the upcoming update. A theory has surfaced on Reddit, speculating that the studio is seeking retribution for the decision to rescue the children during that particular period.

Fans Always Have New Theories
Beyond the theories, players started sharing different opinions about this new weapon that the Automatons will get. Some users expressed their preference for the anti-tank mines, which they could have acquired if they had picked not to rescue the children.
One of these players also pointed out that the mine wouldn’t be useful due to the weapon’s range and how difficult it is to get close to it.
Probably, the rockets in Helldivers 2 will be useful to break or directly destroy this new Automaton weapon.
For now, the studio hasn’t revealed if the players’ arsenal will also receive any adjustments to balance the scales and thus have the chance to experience new things on the battlefield. Despite how imposing these new additions look, fans are very excited to try the update.
Starting next month, all players will be able to enjoy the variations that the studio will add to the game, mostly related to adding new ways to play.
One of the most notable additions, which the most hardcore fans applauded, was the addition of the much-anticipated difficulty 10, so far the hardest in the game. All this new content could bring back the players the title has been losing due to a lack of variety.
