The Helldivers 2 discourse is gradually going back on track, from worries about not being able to purchase the game to worries about power balancing.

One of the biggest complaints for the game currently seems to be how its primaries aren’t getting as much attention as they deserve. But, not to worry, as Arrowhead staff let the public know that the man of the people, CEO Johan Pilestedt, was already ahead of the issue.

The Helldivers 2 Discord is typically one of the better modes of communication between the game’s developers and players, as staff is quite active and issues are constantly brought to its attention.

In the current meta, players have been finding that primary weapons haven’t been getting as much love as others. One player who raised a complaint in the Discord stated that they’d love to see “primaries not getting gutted constantly,” but felt they were asking for too much. An official staff member of the game, however, responded promptly:

They explained that Pilestedt was currently pushing this very issue of balancing within his teams. “A lot of meetings and a lot of chats going on,” apparently.

The players were extremely happy to hear the news. One user says that there’s already plenty of weapons in the game, and they wish the developers would “make more of them actually useful.

Of course, a ton of praise was directed toward Pilestedt. Exclaiming that “the man knows how to lead instead of just boss,” a user hoped that there were healthy discussions going on internally about the issue.

Coincidentally enough, Pilestedt recently mentioned that balancing had gone too far, as every time someone found something fun, “the fun was removed.

However, not everyone seems very confident about anything happening with the balancing issue, thanks to one person in particular.

Fans Doubt That Pilestedt Can Convince His Staff

While many of the replies were happy at the staff’s response, stating that it gave them hope that the game would introduce some balancing patches in the future, some didn’t share the sentiment.

Specifically, there was one member of the Arrowhead staff that they felt would essentially block Pilestedt from being able to do anything.

Alexus Kravchenko, the game’s senior designer and self-titled ‘Bringer of Balance‘ on Discord, doesn’t have a great reputation among players.

In the replies, a user brought up his name and claimed that “everything” that they have seen from him plays out like “he’s never done any work balancing a game before.” Talk about a star-studded endorsement.

Multiple replies to this comment agreed, with one of the most-upvoted ones saying that the issue of balancing was a staff problem.

They felt that even if Pilestedt could implement some kind of change to remedy the balancing issue, letting Kravchenko continue in his position would just put the game back where it started.
