Johan Pilestedt is soaking up his fame and fans are taking advantage of accidental slip-ups of in-game information and details like his recent comment about a tripod system for a heavy machine gun but quickly taking it back once he realized he revealed too much.
Helldivers 2 Could Feature A Heavy Machine Gun
There was an idea or early concept at least for a heavy machine gun to be propped up by more than one player which has some advantages and drawbacks. Arrowhead Game Studios is adamant about delivering an immersive and realistic depiction of how specific weapons are used, and to give players a well-rounded and balanced gameplay. Pilestedt slipped and mentioned that the game would have added the heavy machine gun but it remains to be seen.
In a recent conversation between Pilestedt and Helldivers 2 players on X, there was an idea to have at least two players manning a heavy machine gun with a tripod and recoil feature and Pilestedt confirmed their idea also until he took it back moments after realizing he shared details that should not have been in the first place.

It was a short yet amusing conversation that now generated hype within the community. The game requires new and serious firepower ever since the developers nerfed the railgun, and players are having trouble adapting to using their stratagems more often than they did before. Helldivers 2 is a game that illustrates what a strong unit can unfurl against their enemies if they are united, and the heavy machine gun could be the best of both worlds.

The addition of extra weapons will change the way how the game can be played if a weapon like the Gatling gun or heavy machine gun is too powerful, it could deviate the players from the way Arrowhead Studios intended them to play. While it is nice to have the convenience of having strong weapons, Helldivers 2 is meant to showcase the strength of players when they are united and how teamwork can lead to satisfying moments.
