After failing two major orders in a row, the community has finally scored a big win, but that isn’t the highlight. A lot of praise is in order for Arrowhead Game Studios’ ability to construct compelling lore that perfectly ties in with significant events in the game.

Helldivers 2’s Back-to-Back Major Orders Are a Massive Hit

The first Major Order tasked Helldivers 2 players with killing two billion Automatons; an insanely high number. People were skeptical that they wouldn’t make it, and unfortunately, they were right.

Helldivers failed the mission, but there was a chance to make it up with the second Major Order that went out. This time, they were directed to kill 3.1 billion enemies. Sadly, the unlucky streak wasn’t over, and the mission was failed again.

As they say, however, the third time’s the charm! This time, the Major Order stated that the players had to liberate Varylia 5 of the Trigon sector. The mission was a smashing success, thanks to which, they’ve acquired the Emancipator Exosuit.

After a tumultuous battle, the Helldivers have finally scored a big win, and have gained a humongous advantage as a result of their hard work. It’s been exhilarating, but completely worth it.

While stepping into the action and feeling like you’re part of this war is fun, a lot of people had praise for the way Arrowhead set the whole thing up and expertly connected the Major Orders to the lore in the process.

The way Arrowhead set up an in-universe lore reason to attack a colony and tied its liberation to the acquisition of new stratagems is done flawlessly, making the game’s universe feel so real and alive; every action has a reaction, and every decision has consequences.

The sheer amount of lore-heavy events and missions that have affected the game’s universe is too vast to explain in text.

One Redditor has compiled them all (up until a few months ago), and you can take a look at how much the Major Orders have affected the ongoing war for managed democracy.

The Hype is Real: Dying Game Where?

Every blood, sweat, and tear sacrificed was well worth it.

Some claims have been floating around that Helldivers 2 is dying, but players aren’t having it.

Especially with the latest Major Order win that will change the tide of war, the Helldivers 2 community feels that the game is thriving now more than ever.

Although morale took a hit with the first few losses, it didn’t take too long for the community to recoup their losses, gain an advantage, and remember what they were fighting for.

While these Major Orders are tough to complete, that is essentially the point; you’ve got to give it your all to make it to the end. It was a long and tough battle, but it’s over… until the next one.
