It’s been a rollercoaster ride lately for Space Marine 2 fans and Warhammer 40K followers. Henry Cavill’s much-hyped project with the franchise involving Amazon seems to have hit a dead end, with no news or updates.

Meanwhile, the new Space Marine game seems to be coming along nicely. And now, it looks like Amazon is throwing fans an unexpected lifeline, unrelated to Cavill’s project.

Cavill’s Warhammer project of his dreams might not be happening due to licensing issues, but that doesn’t mean Amazon is completely done with the franchise.

Deadline recently reported that the mega-company is working on a new anthology series titled Secret Level in collaboration with Tim Miller and his Blur Studio, the same creative minds behind Love, Death, and Robots on Netflix.

If seeing another title gets added to the short list of video games shows we have isn’t exciting enough, get this: one of the episodes in the show is rumored to be set in the Warhammer universe.

Essentially, each episode of the series will heavily feature a different video game world. According to a report from Redanian Intelligence, which has been tracking this project for years, one episode will feature a familiar face from the Space Marine cast.

Clive Standen (Vikings, Everest) is set to reprise his role as Demetrian Titus, the character he’s voicing in Space Marine 2. There’s also Max Rinehart (Unforgotten, The Bad Education Movie), who is rumored to play a character named Julius, though it’s still unclear if he’s another Marine or something else entirely.

Is There Something More to This Amazon Project?

What does this mean for Warhammer 40K fans? For one, while the Cavill project might never happen, fans will still get new content from Amazon, even if it’s not what they’d originally anticipated.

That’s not all, however. Some believe this episode could be the sequel to the Astartes fan project we never got, as one Redditor spotted people associated with it talking about some sort of announcement. Could this be a hint related to the new Amazon show?

This seems unlikely because of how news about the project last was, but stranger things have happened. If anything, it would be a much-welcomed surprise.

Redanian Intelligence claims that the episode’s title is “Chaos.” This could be a hint at an episode focused on the Chaos Marines. It’s hard to say for sure, as there are a lot of chaotic aspects of this franchise.

Unfortunately, there’s no release date yet, and details remain sparse, but the fact that the show is in development is reason enough to be excited.
