Henry Cavill, widely known for portraying Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman in the DCEU, made his first appearance as the superhero in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. The actor was highly lauded for his performance in the movie after which he appeared as Superman in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 2017’s Justice League, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Cavill returned as Superman in a mid-credit cameo for Black Adam and revealed that a sequel of Man of Steel was under development. After James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the reins at DC Studios, Cavill announced that he would no longer be returning as Superman. But now rumors have started to afloat that Henry Cavill has been offered a role in MCU and he is considering accepting it.

Former DCEU actor Henry Cavill impressed the audience with his portrayal of August Walker in Tom Cruise starrer Mission: Impossible- Fallout in which he played the antagonist. Fans had been curious and willing to see the actor in the grey-shade character ever since. 1. Knull

Described as one of the most notable and powerful super villains in MCU, Knull is usually associated with Venom and Carnage and later being known as an unseen enemy of Thor. Knull is known as a character that depicts an evil deity and the creator of a weapon known as All-Black the Necrosword. The character can generate and manipulate eldritch darkness as he can manifest darkness into creating weapons and living creatures.

Henry Cavill showcased his dark side while playing August Walker in Mission: Impossible- Fallout. The performance of the actor as antagonist was highly appreciated by the audience which can assure that the actor could portray Knull on-screen, if given the opportunity.

2. Norman Osborn

Norman Osborn is a wealthy and brilliant scientist who using a serum transforms into a Green Goblin. The serum had granted him enhanced physical abilities and a severely fractured psyche. Osborn became a significant rival to Spider-Man and his act of kidnapping Gwen Stacy and confrontation with Spider-Man leading to her death had been one of the most heartbreaking deaths in the MCU.

Henry Cavill could fit in the character as Osborn has superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and durability, which is something that the actor can drive from his portrayal of Superman. Even though Superman was a protagonist and Osborn would be an antagonist, it would be interesting to see Cavill as Green Goblin. Willem Dafoe has previously portrayed the character of Norman Osborn.

3. Vulcan

Vulcan first appeared in X-Men: Deadly Genesis #1 and is the third Summers brother after Cyclops and Havok. He is an Omega-level mutant with the ability to psionically manipulate, control, and absorb vast amounts of energy. He has used his powers to produce light, heat, force, and electricity, as well as wrap or disable large amounts of energy.

The character is capable of detecting energy signatures from a great distance while showcasing superhuman durability and strength. Mister Sinister was born as Nathaniel Essex, as a courtesy of Apocalypse (a mutant villain); Essex undergoes genetic engineering and becomes immortal by gaining telepathic abilities. The character whose body after being destroyed more than once survives due to its regenerative abilities can be an interesting sight for the audience to witness with Cavill.

5. Annihilus

Lastly, Annihilus; primarily acts as a rival to the Fantastic Four and debuted in Fantastic Four Annual #6. Created by Stan Lee, Annihilus at various times is considered the ruler of the Negative Zone and controls the inhabitants via his Cosmic Control Rod. He has superhuman physical abilities and can breathe in a vacuum of space and his wings can carry him at a speed of 150 miles per hour.

His Control Rod is known to be a weapon of great power and with a built-up like Henry Cavill’s, it can be considered to play a super villain controlling inhabitants with his Control Rod. With Annihilus leading an elite personal guard, the Centurions, 200 super-powered aliens who are loyal to him forming a devastatingly effective army; it can be seen that Cavill fits the role perfectly.
