Great news for fans of Henry Cavill’s Superman! While there isn’t any word of a direct Man of Steel sequel (here’s to hoping), there are talks of Henry Cavill coming back. With Zach Snyder’s historic watch party on Vero, we got confirmation that his cut of Justice League will be coming to HBO Max. That being said, there are a few other ways that the blue boy scout could come back into our lives.

We shouldn’t be expecting anything in the near future. With Wonder Woman 1984 and The Suicide Squad all but ready to go, there are some that still have time to alter things up a bit. Directly after those, we have Matt Reeves’s The Batman, but don’t get your hopes up for another movie anytime soon. That leaves some breathing room for an appearance in either Black Adam or Aquaman 2, both of which will be ramping up production after safety restrictions are lifted. It’s also possible and some may consider likely that Superman will pop up in the Shazam sequel.

These can be either cameos, flashbacks, or team up events. With COVID-19 halting much of the entertainment industry, it’s nice to see new opportunities for actors to come up with an extra paycheck. Depending on how large of a role he will get, we may see a lot more of him or just a few seconds of screen time. Regardless, it would be a great way for us to see our beloved Superman back in action quickly. Thankfully, there aren’t any plans for him to return to the Mission: Impossible franchise, so no need for an expensive CGI lip. Although there could be some conflict with his recent The Witcher series, his hairstyle is a lot easier to manage. WB has yet to confirm any reports.

Henry Cavill has donned the red cape in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.

Read the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”
