Henry Cavill has surely been making headlines these days for losing his hit roles. The Man of Steel star has been shown the exit gate from both DCU and The Witcher. The arrival of the new co-CEO of DCU, James Gunn, soon resulted in the departure of Cavill. The Enola Holmes actor gained global attention after playing the role of the most famous DC superhero. Cavill’s performance as Superman was indeed enjoyed by the fans. But now the superstar has been snatched off his red cape. Talking about his Superman costume, Cavill had something insightful to share.
Henry Cavill On Superman’s Costume
The Enola Holmes star has played the role of Superman in various DC movies and his performance was surely enjoyed by the audience. Despite delivering the hits, Cavill failed to retain his superhero role. But despite this, it appears like the Man of Steel star has something really good to say about his iconic Superman costume.
“The first I put it on it wasn’t the first day of shooting it was you know after all the concept has been finished and all the practice and we were trying out different lengths of capes and different shield sizes and different details on and different materials. The first time I tried it on I realized there was something very special about it. It had almost physical energy like a palpable force to it and it wasn’t just the projection of what Superman is from my mind onto it.”
Henry Cavill has shared his experience with Superman’s costume by comparing it to cooking, to give a better understanding of his inner feelings.
“I have said this before so excuse me but it’s like two people cooking you a meal and in the same kitchen, same ingredients and you were just as hungry each time you ate the meal but for some reason, one was a lot better than the other and it’s because love was put into it. Love was put into cooking and the same goes for this.”
Cavill added that his experience with the Superman costume will stay with him till his last breath as he marked the energy present in Superman’s costume which he surely enjoyed while shooting the film.
“Genuine love was put into the creation of the suit and respect for the character and realization of the importance of the character. So it held a fantastic energy and even when I look at it now there’s something very, very special about it and so when I put it on for the first time I felt that and I’m gonna take that moment with me, you know until the day I die.”
Henry Cavill Will No Longer Play The Role Of Superman
It is not an unknown fact that Cavill will not play the role of Clark Kent in the new DCU which is being headed by the co-CEOs of DCU, James Gunn, and Peter Safran. Gunn made it clear that the new Superman will be someone younger as his story and vision of Superman try to tap the younger phase of Superman’s life.
Nonetheless, it appears like the days of Cavill playing Superman are gone, as the new DCU has no space for Cavill. But it appears like the memories of Superman’s costume will remain enacted in the Man of Steel star’s heart.
