Cavill has always addressed a want in returning as his character in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. His character was much loved and he has always expressed his love to perhaps adorn the moustache once again and fight with Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt. Both actors are professionals and know how to get the work done in the right manner. However, from time to time, they don’t mind having each other’s backs. Especially if it concerns a dangerous stunt.

Henry Cavill Was Kept By Tom Cruise From Doing A Dangerous Stunt

Henry Cavill and Tom Cruise did quite a great number of their stunts on their own. Enough training and skill can allow them to do their stunts on their own most of the time without the help of a body double. Despite all of that, there can also be several occasions where they had no other option but to resort to using a stunt double.

“There were times when I genuinely thought, ‘Ah, this is how I go, but at least I will have been killed by Tom Cruise, it’ll make the papers!”

The task, as expected, was to ensure the safety of the actors. Although the helicopter chase sequence was one Cavill had heartily been looking forward to, Cruise was against him doing it. He convinced the actor to instead let the professionals take care of it. The sequence in itself was of two separate helicopters that were flying too close for anyone’s comfort.

Tom Cruise Trained Hard For The Halo Jump Sequence

Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill were both looking forward to the Halo jump in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. However, no matter how much the latter wanted to do it, he could not. Cavill was advised not to take part in the jump because while others were trained to be a part of it, he was not.

“We do an aerial helicopter sequence, which in terms of action, is the largest we have ever done … We were flying very low near rock faces, and I was literally on Henry’s tail … [It was] exhilarating and dangerous.”

Nevertheless, the actor was happy to actually be a part of the movie and star alongside Tom Cruise. Cavill was excited to see just how many stunts he could pull off and made sure to do as many as possible.
