Henry Cavill Was the Second Fight Coordinator for The Witcher

While Liam Hemsworth is set to take over the role of Geralt after The Witcher season 3, Henry Cavill‘s commitment to the character didn’t waver in his final portrayal as the White Wolf. Not only did Cavill chose not to use a stunt double and performed all of his own fight scenes but also was heavily involved in the process of crafting the fight scenes. The stunt coordinator Wolfgang Stegemann claimed Cavill took on a role akin to a “second fight coordinator” during the show’s third season. He stated,

“What many people don’t know, they think the stunt team comes together and we start choreographing something and show it to him. It’s not like that. He’s, from the beginning, there and giving all his input.”

The actor almost took it upon himself and even got involved in directing the camera movements and shots that would fit the scene best to portray the essence of it. He said,

“It’s not just having a fight, it’s how we shoot this fight. Henry and I basically sit together on the monitor and we hold the cameras and go through the fight to find the right angles, the right movements. And, yeah, it’s incredible.”

The dedication of the actor only further proves that there were no hard feelings between the series and the actor that might have led to him deciding to step down from the lead role.
