Henry Cavill is a British actor who is known to everyone for his role as Superman (a.k.a Clark Kent) in Man of Steel which was the first movie of the DC Extended Universe. Cavill made his acting debut in 2001 when he got a role in the film Hotel Laguna. The actor further worked as a supporting actor in films like The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), I Capture the Castle (2003), and Stardust (2007).

Henry Cavill was born on 5 May 1983 in Saint Helier, Jersey, Channel Island to a Roman Catholic family. His mother was also born in Jersey. Henry Cavill is known as the first non-American actor who played Superman.

Cavill used to participate in school dramas because of his interest in acting from an early age. He went to St.Michael’s Preparatory School and later attended a boarding school, Stowe School.  During school time he was approached by casting directors who were looking for the perfect suit for a boy who can play Albert Mondego in The Count of Monte Cris. He also played role in  Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Sonny LaTierri in Grease when he was in school.

Henry Cavill was born to Colin Cavill (Father) and Marianne Dalgliesh (Mother). He is the fourth of five boys in the family, his brothers are Simon Cavill, Charlie Cavill, Piers Cavill, and Niki Richard Dalgliesh Cavill. His father used to work as a stockbroker and his mother was a secretary in a bank. His father, Colin Cavill, was born in Chester, England. His mother was born in Jersey and is of Scottish, English, and Irish heritage.

Cavill and his 4 brothers have shared a really close bond since childhood. Henry Cavill’s eldest brother Piers Cavill is an Ex-army officer and now works as an actor. His second elder brother Niki Cavill is also in the Royal Marine Corps. The third brother among these five is Simon Cavill who works in finance and the youngest brother of them all, Charlie Cavill owns a family business.

In an interview, when asked about his siblings, Henry said, “Growing up was intense – we were living on the edge of survival most of the time To give you an example, my dad came home from work one day and asked my mother why the wallpaper had changed, and she simply said, “It is easier to clean the blood off this one!”  Cavill humorously said that his brothers prepared him for action movies.

According to the news, Henry Cavill is going to play Superman in the upcoming project of DC Extended Universe The Flash which is going to be streamed next year. Fans are eagerly waiting to see their superhero back in action, after his cameo appearance in Black Adam‘s mid-credits scene.
