David Corenswet is the new Superman, and looks-wise he perfectly resembles the character. But now that he has been cast, people are looking at his past work to understand if he can portray the character well. One of the popular shows he starred in was Hollywood by Ryan Murphy.

The show was set post-World War II, where people try to make their dreams come true to achieve fame, stardom, and more. As expected, the path to stardom isn’t easy, and in one of the scenes, Corenswet’s character had to sleep with the much older Patti LuPone’s character.

In an interview with Variety, David Corenswet revealed the one s*x scene in Hollywood that took him aback. In the show, he played Jack Castello, and the actor was surprised at the sheer amount of n*dity that there was in the script:

“Edgier is putting it way mild. I don’t know if this is appropriate, but I mean, it was like soft-to-medium-core p*rn. It was very explicit and very descriptive.”

But was the actor disgusted by the obscene amount of s*x in the show? Not really. He understood that it was meant to show a different side of the picture-perfect icons.

However, he still struggled with one scene- the one where his character had to sleep with 74-year-old Patti LuPone’s character, Avis Amberg. Corenswet said:

“I have no idea [what] I’m going to be able to do it until I show up on the day. But as far as the s*x stuff, the scene where Jack gets introduced to the world and turns his first trick, in the finished product, that’s a beautiful s*x scene with Patti LuPone.”

He said that what made the scene beautiful was the fact that it wasn’t about romance per se, it was two lonely people who found comfort in each other. But it looks like the actor might not have to worry about turning up with such justifications for Superman: Legacy.

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been cast as Clark Kent and Lois Lane in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. Looking at the long comic book history of the two characters, it’s clear that both of them will be involved in a romance. Fans are hoping that the romance is better done than the one between Henry Cavill and Amy Adams’ Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

After all, who can forget both of them kissing amid an almost-destroyed Metropolis in Man of Steel? Apart from this, there was also criticism that Adams’ Lois was too much of a damsel in distress. Moreover, we never got to see the romance between her Lois and Cavill’s Clark develop meaningfully. Hopefully, Gunn will craft a romantic yet meaningful relationship between the two characters this time around.

Hollywood is streaming on Netflix.
