Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth met on the set of their movie, The Last Song, in 2009 and started dating shortly after the wrap-up. However, that didn’t last long as they broke up in August of 2010 and then got back together less than a month later. Their on-and-off relationship went on for a bit before the two got engaged in 2012. They called off their engagement, got re-engaged, and finally tied the knot in 2018.  That didn’t last long either as they separated just a year later.

Phew! That was one hell of a rollercoaster. Now that we have our basics cleared, both Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have moved on from each other, or so it seems. The singer is currently in a relationship with musician Maxx Morando and he doesn’t seem to be too fond of Miley Cyrus fixating on her ex-husband.

After the release of the self-love anthem, Flowers, Miley Cyrus is back in the game. The song was released on streaming platforms on January 13 and since then has broken records left and right. It became the most-streamed song ever in seven days in Spotify history with over 100 million streams. It defeated BTS’ super-catchy and extremely popular song, Butter.

Fans are speculating that Cyrus specially wrote the song for Liam Hemsworth, finding clues of their relationship in the song. What makes it more intriguing is that the song was released on Hemsworth’s birthday. If that’s the case, then Maxx Morando isn’t pleased, at all.

According to Radar Online, an insider let the outlet in on a secret. Apparently, Morando is upset with Cyrus ever since the release of Flowers. The insider stated that she has been given a final warning to stop obsessing over her ex-husband. The ultimatum asked Cyrus to “stop fixating on Liam and spend more time concentrating on him.”

The source also added that while the song alleges that Cyrus has “no remorse, no regret” about her failed relationship, Morando isn’t sure about it. The source continued, “No one tells Miley what to do, which doesn’t bode well for Morando.” It looks like relationship troubles aren’t leaving the Wrecking Ball singer’s side. Only time will tell if the two can resolve this supposed problem in their relationship.

Brandi Cyrus, the elder sister of the singer has entered the chat. In her podcast with Wells Adams, Your Favorite Thing, Cyrus stated that the rumors around her sister’s song were just “so good” and “so entertaining.”

“it’s so entertaining. The song did come out on his birthday – was that on purpose? I don’t know, can’t say. Genius though…The fans – I love Miley’s fans so much, they go hard in the paint. The fans on TikTok just keep creating narrative after narrative and it is so funny. It makes Miley seem like an absolute genius, and it’s just too good.”

The self-love anthem which goes, “I can love me better than you can,” has a line where Cyrus states, “Built a home and watched it burn.” Now, this might be just an expression for failed relationships, however, it’s worth noting that her and Hemsworth’s home did burn down in an unfortunate blaze in 2018. Do you think the song is for Hemsworth?

Flowers is available to stream on Spotify.
