According to the latest reports of the outlet, the famed director has a deal with the streaming giant Netflix to direct at least two projects of The Chronicles of Narnia film series based on the popular novels of British author C. S. Lewis.
Greta Gerwig Claims She Was Worried About Making Her Upcoming Film Barbie
Great Gerwig is stealing the spotlight! The director is making waves in Hollywood with her latest work which is yet to hit theaters. Nevertheless, last year on the At Your Service podcast, she revealed she was worried about writing a screenplay for her 2023 directorial Barbie. Talking about her experience working on the project Grewig shared,
“It was something that was exciting because it was terrifying. I think that was a big part of it, like: ‘Oh, no, Barbie,’” she continued, “It felt like vertigo, starting to write it, like: ‘Where do you even begin, and what would be the story?”
The California native actress added, “And I think it was that feeling I had was knowing that it would be really interesting terror. Usually, that’s where the best stuff is, where you’re like, ‘I am terrified of that.’ Anything where you’re like, ‘This could be a career-ender — then you’re like, ‘I should probably do it.’”
Greta Gerwig’s upcoming film Barbie stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell.
Barbie will hit theaters on July 21, 2023.
