Queen Marika is one of the most hideous characters in the whole of Elden Ring, and her origins and backstory remains as one of the most confusing mysteries in the whole game. It is heavily indicated how Radagon, another significant character in the game, is just another avatar of Queen Marika, but fans often question how can that be possible.
There are many theories that have sprung up since the release of the game how Marika could have managed to became Radagon, but one that stands out amongst others is how the red-haired demigod might be a mimic tear that the Queen created to act on her behalf.
Why Radagon Might Be Queen Marika’s Mimic Tear In Elden Ring?
Mimic Tears refers to those unique creatures in the world of Elden Ring who are able to take up the shape, powers and characteristics of whomever they want. They are primarily found in the Eternal Cities under The Lands Between, where the player gets the chance to fight against themselves in the form of Mimic Tear as a boss battle.
There is a theory on the game’s social media platforms, as depicted by this user on Reddit stating how Radagon is very possibly just a mimic tear that Marika has given a shape and training to. Bearing in mind how she probably hails from the Eternal Cities herself, she would have the knowledge required to complete the said task, giving credit to the theory.
Mimic Tears hold a lot of potential, and is considered to be the best spirit summon available in the game once it is finally unlocked. Considering how it is able, they are able to imitate the strongest of attacks and powers, it is possible that Queen Marika gave a mimic tear the shape of Radagon and respective powers.
What Do We Know About Queen Marika Already?
Queen Marika was the ruler of The Lands Between, and the vessel of the Greater Will, an outer god. She was chosen to act on their behalf, and was made a Demi-God in the process. FromSoftware has not disclosed much on her behalf, however we do know that she played a major role in the shattering of the Elden Ring.
Marika was given Maliketh as a shadow consort from the Greater Will and was married to Godfrey, making him the first Elden Lord. After Godfrey was driven out from The Lands Between, Radagon became the second Elden Lord, leaving Rennala behind, putting the Raya Lucaria Academy in shambles.
A lot remains undisclosed about Queen Marika, but players hope that we will get to know more about her character in the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which can be released any day now.
