In an interview earlier this year, Cannon stated that Foxx’s team controls all available information about his well-being. Cannon initially offered prayers and positivity, but they assured him they had things under control.

Cannon affirmed that Foxx would eventually share his situation with his fans. Foxx was first admitted into the care of medical professionals because he faced health issues while working on a Netflix film Back in Action with Cameron Diaz. In May, Foxx’s daughter Corrine Foxx revealed that her father had been “out of the hospital for weeks.” She was also spotted visiting him at a rehab center in Chicago later that month.

After Jamie Foxx faced a health scare in April 2023, Nick Cannon released one of the earliest updates. He mentioned: “I can’t really say what it is, but it’ll be out there soon.”

He further added:

“I was reluctant to go all the way there, and even talk about it, but he gave me the blessing, so it’s a beautiful thing. He’s awake. They say he’s alert, so, we love it.”

About a week later, after news of Foxx’s hospitalization had broken, Cannon reported that the Django Unchained star was awake and alert. In early May, Foxx himself posted on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the support he’d received.

In the future, Nick Cannon wants Jamie Foxx to discuss his own health issues and the details of what happened. Speaking to Extra TV, Cannon said,

“One thing I’ve always respected about how Jamie’s moved throughout his entire career, if you’ve noticed, he’s always been somebody who is extremely professional and extremely private.”

Cannon noted that Foxx has always maintained a professional and private approach throughout his career. He acknowledged Foxx’s ability to manage his situation with the same grace. Cannon believes that when Foxx is ready, he’ll address his fans in his own unique way regarding his health scare.

“Jamie’s happy with the job that I did on Beat Shazam,'” Cannon said, revealing his role is temporary until Foxx returns.
