In a video posted on Tiktok late Monday night, the Stranger Things star shared in a statement that he feels “like my thoughts and beliefs have been so far misconstrued from anything even close to what I believe, and I wanted to just state from my heart how I feel. I only want peace and safety and security for all innocent people affected by this conflict.”

As per Variety, the backlash against the 19-year-old grew when people on social media accused him of liking a video that mocked Palestinian victims in Gaza.

This led fans to demand a boycott of Season 5 of Stranger Things, which has recently started production. One X user even declared, “he’s borderline jobless now.”
