As per the latest speculations, the work on the upcoming Superman: Legacy will be put on halt until the WGA’s strike ends. This seems to point out that the Peacemaker director does not have a problem with it and that he is supporting WGA’s strike against the streaming services.

With the Writer’s Guild of America on strike, it seems that work on major motion pictures and series has completely stopped. Although not taking sides, it seems that James Gunn allegedly supports the writer’s strike by putting Superman: Legacy on hold temporarily.

“So James Gunn’s writing Superman: Legacy. So he won’t be able to continue. Maybe he’s already finished the script and now he is all you know, in the process of meeting with the actors or whatever. [They don’t think that] James Gunn will cross the picket line even as an executive.”

Sneider further continued,

“He’s, basically, he’s going to support the strike”

As per Jeff Sneider, the director will not be interfering with work in the DC Studios as long as the strike holds. Sneider further stated that Gunn is going to leave his day-to-day work for co-head Peter Safran until things quiet down for a bit.

Well, the whole deal has been allegedly blamed on Netflix. With the increased prices of streaming services, the writers demanded that they be given a greater monetary gain since the work hours of the job had already been extended.

The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers already denied the request. As per current scenarios, if the deal fails to reach agreement levels, the writers have promised to quit their jobs from the thousands of positions starting on May 1. James Gunn, being a writer and a director himself, may have love and compassion for the writers since that is where he originally started.

Although these are mere speculations, the Writers’ Guild of America could potentially end several projects that would leave the people bereft of entertainment and a broken Hollywood.
