Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto features a long list of characters that are immensely loved by the fans. However, Itachi Uchiha tops the long list, as fans love him to death as his epic backstory had taken the community by surprise. He was featured for only 24 episodes, but the impact he made in his limited appearances is immaculate.

Hence, fans hailed him as a true Shinobi, as he willingly allowed himself to be a threat to Konohagakure while he continued to save them from the shadows. Putting the needs of the village above his own, the anti-hero did not hesitate to murder his entire clan.

However, he could not bring himself to murder his brother, as he forced him to hate and become stronger just to avenge his clan. While the fanboys label the ninja as the greatest, he might have been responsible for the worst possible development of his baby brother, Sasuke Uchiha.

Masashi Kishimoto Used Itachi Uchiha For The Negative Character Building of Sasuke Uchiha

In the vast world of Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto, Itachi Uchiha might just be the most renowned character from the Shonen series, as he was responsible for the development of the story in the most significant way. The fans were baffled as they learned that the Anbu Captain was, in fact, a hero who did not hesitate to carry out the most difficult missions but also accomplished them.

However, the mangaka might not have said that Itachi has been responsible for the worst possible character development of his little brother. After murdering his entire clan and sparing only his younger brother, Sasuke, he traumatized him with his Genjutsu by repeatedly demonstrating how he murdered their parents.

He wanted to ensure that his brother despised him, so he told him to grow strong enough to kill him one day. Thus began Sasuke’s hunger for power, where he would go down a negative path to achieve every power in the world so that he could avenge his clan.

After getting the Cursed Seal from Orochimaru, the young Shinobi decided to leave the village. He felt that training under the legendary Sannin would give him the power that was necessary for killing his brother, whom he once adored so much.

However, the unsung hero’s actions backfired as the Uchiha Brat became a villain who would not stop at anything that came his way. The fans, as well as the character, were flabbergasted when, after the epic battle with his brother, he encountered Madara Uchiha disguised as Tobi, who told him the shocking backstory behind the character.

Though the Itachi fanatics would refuse to accept, it can’t be denied that he was responsible for making Sasuke a monster, and his animosity towards him made him an international criminal in the show.

Fans React to Itachi Making Sasuke a Villain

Even though the Uchiha brothers shared an intricate bond in the Shinobi series, that has become one of the many key highlights in the show. Despite being the unsung hero of the Hidden Leaf Village, he solely saved his home from many threats.

Sadly, he could not save his brother from following a negative path, as he became nothing but a cold-blooded murderer in Sasuke’s eyes, as he swore to destroy everything that he would protect.

Hence, a fan shared a post on r/Naruto asking the community if the anti-hero was responsible for making Sasuke “worse” than he was. The community felt that it was indeed true, as they shared their opinion in the comment section of the post.

The community did not hold back with their words, as they called Itachi a psychopath and how his idea of love and affection was so twisted that it compelled Sasuke to follow an evil path, making him take the worst decisions that regressed his potential of being the best character in the show.

Naruto can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
