In the midst of this, there were also rumors of a possible feud between Snipes and his co-star Ryan Reynolds, who played Hannibal King in the movie. Reynolds was reported to be having a tough time on set with Snipes berating and constantly criticizing his performance. Snipes, who first brought the iconic half-vampire “Daywalker” to life in 1998 hit Blade, has now set records for both the “Longest Career as a Live-Action Marvel Character” and the “Longest Gap Between Character Appearances in Marvel Films.”

Wesley Snipes’ return nearly 26 years after his original portrayal, dethroned Hugh Jackman‘s tenure as Wolverine, which started in X-Men (2000). While the audience expected Jackman would break the record with his latest appearance as Wolverine, Snipes has outdone him by claiming the title (via Deadline).

In addition to this, with a staggering 19-year-long hiatus since his last appearance in Blade: Trinity (2004), the actor broke the record for the longest gap between portrayals.

This record was previously held by Alfred Molina, who had marked his return as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) after 17 years.
