Antony Starr, the man known for portraying the role of Homelander in The Boys, has received worldwide fame and love for his role. Well… it seems that the character is getting more and more deranged as the seasons progress.
Being absolutely unhinged in season 4, Homelander has almost no restrictions now. Being at the mercy of his own mind, the supe might just kill everyone or become one of the elites. However, Antony Starr did clarify that even though Homelander is a terrible terrible supe, he is not a racist!
Antony Starr’s Homelander Is Simply Better Than Everyone
It was Season 3 of The Boys when Starlight gave a speech about Homelander on his birthday. However, the hero simply took center stage and proclaimed that he was better than everyone else.
Not an average supe with some abilities, Homelander claimed that people should worship him and that he was above all. Well, the character also dated the Nazi supe Stormfront at the end of season 2.
Naturally, an interviewer asked Antony Starr whether Homelander was racist or not. In his iconic answer, Starr revealed to TVLine that Homelander was not racist at all because he thinks that everyone who isn’t him is a waste of space.
No, Homelander is an equal-opportunity hater, man! He’s got enough hate to go all around the world to everyone.
He further continued,
When they’re interacting with [his] kid, when she says a couple of things that sound just a little bit like left-field and unnecessary. He’s completely self-serving.
As the interview further continued, Antony Starr revealed how much connected he was with Homelander and that he understood the character better than anyone else.
