However, after Rian Johnson named Bautista as an incredible actor. Even professional wrestler Chris Jericho has claimed that the Guardians of the Galaxy star is indeed the better actor and ranks way above Dwayne The Rock Johnson in the craft.
Chris Jericho Believes Dave Bautista Is The Better Wrestler-Turned-Actor
Dave Bautista has had an incredible spell in Hollywood so far. From Guardians of the Galaxy to being part of the Dune franchise, he has shown his amazing acting talent in multiple roles in a considerably short period of time, making him one of the most sought-after wrestlers-turned-actors.
Similarly, regarded as the king of box-office, Dwayne Johnson too has shown his acting capability and prowess in many of his roles. However, when Chris Jericho was recently asked on First We Feast’s Truth or Dab: Rapid Fire to rank Dwayne Johnson, Dave Bautista, Hulk Hogan, and John Cena in terms of their acting ability, he replied,
“I would say the best actor of all of them is Bautista. I think his work and his diversity, from what I’ve seen — I think he’s the best actual actor. And then I’ll put Dwayne Johnson, Cena, and Hulk Hogan after that.”
Well, his comments seem to be in line with what Rian Johnson had previously said about the actor being the better wrestler-actors in all of Hollywood.
Rian Johnson Hails Dave Bautista As The Best Actor
Rian Johnson directed Dave Bautista in his hit movie Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery back in 2019. Talking to The Atlantic, about his movie and casting the Army of the Dead star, Johnson stated,
“When I was writing [Bautista’s character], I was picturing a scrawny dude who’s trying to overcompensate. When Bautista was brought up, I was instantly so smitten by the idea. I’ve been a very big fan of his dramatic chops as an actor.”
He then revealed that according to him, Bautista is the greatest wrestler turned actor among all the other wrestlers who have stepped into the world of showbiz after their spell in the ring.
“I absolutely 100 percent agree (that he’s the greatest wrestler-turned-actor), and I think somebody like [Paul Thomas Anderson] is going to give him a real part and is gonna look like a genius.”
Seeing Bautista’s acting credits even fans agree that the Marvel star is in fact one of the best wrestler-actors in the industry.
