Parting ways with a long-term partner after over a decade of dating them would take a toll on anybody, and Shakira didn’t just have a relationship with her ex-boyfriend, she also shares two sons with him. It certainly didn’t help that Gerard Piqué had reportedly been cheating on her while they were still together and the soccer star is currently dating the woman he had an affair with. To say the singer has been rendered crestfallen would be an understatement.
So, when a Hollywood delight named Tom Crusie swooped into the life of a now-single Shakira with alleged flowers and charming smiles, rumors about a potential romance blooming between the two naturally followed.
“There is chemistry,” a source reported to Page Six after Cruise, 60, and Shakira, 46, were spotted together at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami during the weekend. “He is extremely interested in pursuing her,” the insider claimed, remarking how the Oscar-winning actor could be the “soft pillow” that Shakira needs to fall on at the moment.
While neither of the two has commented on any of these rumors, the Hips Don’t Lie singer’s fans are not thrilled in the least about the idea of any amorous developments between her and Cruise. In fact, they seem to be positively horrified by the mere idea of it.
Tom Cruise’s Troubling History Has Shakira Fans Worried
The Mission: Impossible star is an inherently talented and globally famous figure, but even the most celebrated personalities have skeletons in their closet, and so does Cruise. That is exactly why Shakira’s fans have expressed their alarm and concern regarding the prospect of her involvement with Cruise.
The actor and producer has been a devoted member of the Church of Scientology for nearly four decades now, courtesy of his first wife Mimi Rogers, who introduced him to the religion. But his unshakable religious sentiments have often been deemed to be the root cause of a number of controversies surrounding Cruise, especially in his personal and married life. Both his divorces with Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes were said to have a rather dark undercurrent that went beyond just the “irreconcilable differences” that famous couples usually cite upon splitting up.

It is widely believed that both of Cruise’s divorces after Rogers had something to do with his affiliation with Scientology. Not to mention, various other scandalous reports have filtered in over time, concerning the colossal role that religion plays in Cruise’s life.
So, in a way, Shakira’s fans are simply thinking about her best interests, not wanting her to endure another painful experience after recently going through such a devasting heartbreak.
