Elden Ring is a game loved by millions around the globe for the extensive experience it offers to the players. The path you make for your tarnished character throughout its journey decides what conclusion of the game you will achieve out of the 6 available ones.
Furthermore, ever since the announcement of the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, fans have been guessing that the extension is likely to affect the conclusion of the same game. However, this speculation was cleared out by the director of the game, Hidetaka Miyazaki, in a recent interview via Famitsu.
Hidetaka Miyazaki Reveals If Elden Ring DLC Will Have An Effect On The Main Game’s Ending
As mentioned before, a lot of theories have been formulated ever since the announcement of the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. These theories predict if the coming extension will possibly affect the ending of the main game or not.
When asked about the same in the interview, Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed:
“No, that won’t happen and events of the main story will also not affect the DLC. The story of the DLC will be contained entirely within the DLC.“
Not only the director of Elden Ring has made it clear how the upcoming DLC will not be affecting the ending of the main game but has also further revealed how the story content of the DLC will remain exclusive and contained within itself.
While some would be disappointed upon hearing this revelation, on the brighter side it is a great thing to already know about before the release of the DLC, to not harbor any false hopes.
What Is Going To Happen In Elden Ring’s Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC
Initially, not much was known about the DLC, however, the recent gameplay trailer released on YouTube as well as the official websites for the game reveal a great deal of information to fans. To begin with, it has been made sure that the player would be traveling to a place called The Land of Shadow.
It is also indicated that the player would need to touch Miquella’s withered arm hanging out of his cocoon at Mohgwyn’s Palace to traverse to the Land of Shadow and back to The Lands Between. The Land of Shadow is also rumored to be set in the past, as hinted by clues given in the video description of the trailer, stating how this is where Queen Marika first set foot and where she rose to godhood.
Many fans now patiently wait for the much-anticipated release of the DLC on 21st June 2024. Amongst many things, players have also been teased about a new demigod figure called Messmer the Impaler, someone who is rumored to be the forgotten empyrean sibling of Miquella and Malenia in Elden Ring.
Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is available to pre-order on Steam.
