During a knife attack on a Metro train, an Otaku showed immense courage and saved the people on the train by suppressing the attack. He held the attacker until the authorities came and apprehended them. When asked, the citizen revealed that he was inspired by Himmel from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, as he would have done the same thing.

Himmel was one of the most prominent characters in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, as he was one of the warriors of the Hero Party who defeated the Demon King and helped in the establishment of an era of peace. He was deeply in love with the protagonist of the series, Frieren, but he never got the chance to express his love for her.
He was also a skilled swordsman and the leader of the Hero Party. Himmel’s skills were so great that he defeated the Demon King with a replica of the Hero sword. He was selfless and dedicated to saving people from the grasp of the Demon King, and he devoted almost his entire life to serving the people and protecting them from any kind of harm.
He was truly deserving of the title of hero, as he proved multiple times. His nobility towards others made him the perfect candidate for the reason behind Frieren’s resolve to know the human race better.
Himmel Inspired an Otaku to Save Lives
According to Chinatimes, on May 21, a twenty-year-old culprit used a knife to attack the people on the Taichung Metro in Taiwan. However, they were saved when a traveler from the train courageously went in front of the attacker and stopped him from injuring anyone else. He suppressed the knife attack and held the attacker until the officers came.
It was revealed that while suppressing the knife attack and the attacker, he received two large wounds on his face, and later on, the officers took him to the hospital, where he received treatment. Along with him, three other people were also injured, and they were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
When asked about his heroic feat, the Otaku said that he decided to help everyone because “Himmel would do the same.” He was greatly appreciated by the authorities, who awarded him with a certificate of honor and free tickets to ride the electric train for life. He even said that if something like this happens again in the future, he will do the same thing.
