Soon after the release of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, Warner Bros. announced James Gunn and Peter Safran as the new CEOs of DC Studios, who were appointed to work on creating a new DCU. Fans were excited and were expecting to see DC taking a new path under the new leadership.
However, after Henry Cavill departed from DC, James Gunn became the target of fans’ criticism. Although it is not something fans expected, many fans are looking forward to his plans to introduce a new actor as the Kryptonian superhero. David Corenswet Becomes Fans’ Choice For the New Superman
Henry Cavill made his comeback as Superman in the 2022 movie, Black Adam. Soon after which rumors started to appear that the studio is planning a sequel for the 2013 film, Man of Steel. However, James Gunn did not see the Dawn of Justice star as Superman under his vision for the new DCU.
The Witcher star announced that he would not be playing Superman in the future. The new CEO also confirmed the news with a tweet. Soon reports started suggesting that Gunn was planning to introduce a younger Superman.
Fans have already started suggesting who could be perfect to portray the Kryptonian superhero in the future. And seems like David Corenswet has become their top choice. Fans are pointing out the resemblance between the Pearl star and Henry Cavill, and why he would be perfect to be the next Superman.
Fans are saying that he has the physique, personality, and age to portray the character. David Corenswet has also expressed his desire to portray the superhero. He is not the only one in the race to be the next Superman though. The studio has not yet announced anything regarding the new actor to take on Superman’s role. James Gunn and Peter Safran are expected to announce their plan soon.
Why David Corenswet is Perfect to Play Superman?
An Instagram artist, Javier Sanchez, posted a fanart sharing why David Corenswet could be the perfect actor to portray Superman. The artists pointed out that The Politician star is a good actor and is a lesser-known face currently. This would allow him to have his own take on Clark Kent, aka Superman.
He also claimed that David Corenswet has the “body frame” for the character and could build up his physique and bulk up to portray the DC superhero. The actor is 29 years old which would allow him to don the cape for “10-15 years” in the future.
He also pointed out that the actor has the “charm” and potential to pull off the character. Not just Javier Sanchez, Twitter is also flooded with fans demanding to see David Corenswet as Superman, saying that the Hollywood star has all the qualities an actor needs to portray the Kryptonian superhero.

Earlier, Corenswet also expressed his desire to portray the character. During an interview in 2019, he said that he loved Henry Cavill’s “dark and gritty” take on the superhero and that he “would love to see the next one be very bright and optimistic.”
He also said that he wishes to portray Superman saying, “But my pie-in-the-sky ambition is definitely to play Superman.” Other actors who have become fans’ choice to take over the role after the Mission Impossible star include Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter, Michael B. Jordan, and Nicholas Joseph Braun.
