Hitman Blood Money, the 2006 stealth action game is getting a revisit with Hitman Blood Money Reprisal that lands on mobile platforms, both Android, iOS, and Switch. The mobile version will launch this fall and the Switch version in the winter. IO Interactive and Feral Interactive have partnered for the game.
Hitman Blood Money Reprisal was revealed as part of the 25th-anniversary celebrations for developer IO Interactive. The trailer for the game showed the action-packed stealth gameplay that the series is known for and will bring back the classic missions from the original game in a similar but better way.
Hitman Blood Money Reprisal Makes Way Onto Mobile and Switch
Feral Interactive announced Hitman Blood Money Reprisal via its social media accounts and website. This new version of beloved Hitman Blood Money will follow the shenanigans of Agent 47 around the world from Paris to New Orleans, where he makes killings like it’s part of his job, which it is. Talking about the game and its features, Feral Interactive stated,
“Reprisal is a comprehensive reworking of the stealth-action classic, refined for screens large and small — with a new Minimap, Instinct Mode, and gameplay improvements inspired by later games in the series.”
“Iconic locations. High-profile targets. Fresh platforms. Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal takes Agent 47 mobile — with an iOS and Android release this Autumn, and a Switch release to follow in Winter.”
The new version of the game will have a Minimap, a new Instinct mode as well as several gameplay improvements. The Instinct Mode was first made available in Hitman: Absolution, helping Agent 47 predict enemy and civilian movements, while the minimap stayed on screens during gameplay. The game is optimized for all 3 platforms with both mobile versions having a fully customizable touchscreen interface, and will also support “controller and keyboard and mouse support.”
Hitman Blood Money Reprisal will have 12 missions taken from the original game and all the missions will have sandbox gameplay for players with different to complete goals. The trailer of the game promises several features with exciting new ways as players travel around the globe all while executing their targets.
No PC and Console Release for Hitman Blood Money Reprisal
Hitman: Blood Money was first launched in 2006 for PC, PS2, the original Xbox, and Xbox 360. An HD port was also released in 2013 with the Hitman HD Trilogy and a 4K port later for PS4 and Xbox One in 2019. However, Hitman Blood Money Reprisal will not be getting a PC or Console release, at least not anytime soon since developers have not given any signs of it.
Moreover, as the game was announced for IO Interactive’s 25th anniversary, the studio will bring several events for Hitman: World of Assassination. The update is scheduled to drop on October 26 with two elusive targets, Bady Boy and The Food Critic returning as well as a new elusive target ‘The Drop,’ featuring DJ Dimitri Vegas.
Additionally, one Halloween event will also come to the game with new suits including a classic low-poly ‘Codename 47’ suit based on the original title. Players will be able to play the new contract ‘Puzzle Box’ in Hitman: World of Assassination from October 5. The first Twitch drop campaign will bring the Purple Streak Suit up for grabs.
IO Interactive looks to evolve its Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy, however, the studio said back in March that the next installation in the series is on hiatus for some time. The company had also announced that it is working on an officially licensed James Bond game with a reported title ‘Project 007,’ featuring an original James Bond story. No specific release date for Hitman Blood Money Reprisal has been announced yet.
