Young Sheldon was a raging success, and it will soon end after seven successful seasons. This massive appreciation from fans was the catalyst for bringing another show that is cut from the same cloth.

New Big Bang Theory Spinoff Has Been Confirmed

Variety confirmed that CBS has finally ordered a new spinoff project focusing on Georgie and Mandy. Unlike the latest show, which used single-camera comedy, the upcoming series will utilize a multi-camera. President of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach shared in a statement:

It has been a privilege to spend the last seven years with Sheldon and the Cooper family, and now this wonderful journey will continue with Georgie and Mandy.”

Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland created the new series and were also responsible for producing Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory.

Chuck and both Steves have done a masterful job developing these characters and entertaining generations of fans with relatable, heartwarming stories brought to life by Montana and Emily. We eagerly look forward to the next chapter in this beloved universe.”

The creators also remarked that they are thrilled to present another iteration of the beloved tale of the Coopers through a different perspective.

From The Big Bang Theory to Young Sheldon, the world of the Cooper family has been incredibly special to us. We’re very excited to continue their stories through the eyes of Georgie and Mandy.”

The latest spinoff is currently in the middle of airing its seventh season. The pilot episode premiered on February 15, and the final chapter will air on May 16 with an hour-long installment. Lorre stated via The Hollywood Reporter’s TV’s Top 5 podcast:

Seven years… [it] seems like the natural lifespan of [Young Sheldon], and that was a feeling that was shared between myself and both Steve Molaro and Steve Holland, who have been instrumental in keeping this thing as extraordinary as it has been.”

Despite the spinoff involving Georgie and Mandy finally getting the green light from the higher-ups, many fans feel apprehensive about supporting the new show as they deem it unnecessary at this point.
