Fans of the iconic Planet of the Apes franchise were thrilled to see the footage after it was shared on X, by a user. Set to hit theatres on May 8, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ WonderCon trailer seemingly brought everything to the table that fans expect from the $2.1B franchise.
WonderCon Exclusive Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Trailer
During the 2024 Super Bowl event, several upcoming movies dropped their first trailer to mesmerize the audiences. Creating hype alongside Deadpool 3, the upcoming movie from the Planet of the Apes franchise – Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes treated fans to a thrilling sneak peek. Promising to continue the gripping saga, the film scheduled its release date on May 8.
However, while fans were already sold on the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes trailer, they were offered far better footage during the WonderCon 2024. With Collider‘s Steve Weintraub moderating the “Directors on Directing” panel, they hosted filmmakers like Wes Ball, David Leitch, and others, during the event. Therefore, focusing on Ball’s upcoming franchise reboot, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, WonderCon offered a rare glimpse into the film.
Informing fans with a prior notification, Steve Weintraub teased the exclusive new footage from Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and a few other surprises, via X. Therefore, following the event held at Anaheim Convention Center from March 29-31, fans who attended WonderCon, took to social media to address the spellbinding exclusive trailer from the $2.1B franchise (via The Numbers), they witnessed.
Fans are Flabbergasted by the WonderCon Trailer
Although the exclusive trailer wasn’t released on any platform, fans who had a live experience took to X to speak about the footage. Creating hype over the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes reboot, the user notified netizens that the movie “looks special”. Although the $2.1B Planet of the Apes franchise has previously captivated audiences with its breathtaking scenes, the WonderCon footage of the reboot promised a bit more.
Claiming that the footage shared at the WonderCon event was a “treat”, Hunter Bolding received support in the comment section from other fans. According to the synopsis, the upcoming movie is set to focus on an era that came years after the reign of Caesar. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will thus witness a young ape go on a journey and explore things that will make him question everything he knows about the past and thereafter make choices that will redefine the future for both apes and humans.
