Antony Starr’s Homelander is one of the most iconic villains of all time. The Boys does an excellent job at showcasing his hunger for acceptance and his stomach for violence, and it is portrayed in an undeniably unique way. He is one of the most twisted characters in any television series, and Starr has received a lot of acclaim for how he portrays him.
However, fans often forget the difference between an actor and a character. They get surprised when someone isn’t a murderous psychopath in real life, and Starr is quite familiar with it. Although, sometimes lines blur quite a lot.
A rather amusing blooper shows Starr breaking character during filming because he is afraid of something, and many cannot help but wish to see Homelander in a similar situation.
Antony Starr—To Bee or Not to Bee
Homelander is fearless when it comes to things that more humans are afraid of. He is not afraid of guns, knives, lions, or even bombs. A simple laser look can get him out of a tough spot among all of them. However, the same cannot be said about the actor who plays him.
In a behind-the-scenes, bloopers video of season two of The Boys, there is a hilarious scene of Antony Starr being afraid of a bee. During the scene where Homelander pushes Ryan, his own son, off a roof, a bee comes from nowhere. With his breaking character and his Australian accent showing up immediately, he started to move around, avoiding the bee, clearly afraid of it.
The entire clip is quite hilarious, seeing the skilled actor break character because of a bee and then asking Cameron Crovetti if he saw it too. However, many could not help but get inspired by the short clip.
Homelander’s Greatest Weakness
Even four seasons in, Homelander does not have any physical weaknesses. While his mental limitations can be exploited as much as someone wants, no weapon would be able to kill him. While weakness is bound to show up as the season goes on, the series could do something quite hilarious.
On a reupload of the scene to Instagram, many fans wondered if the blooper could be implemented into the world of The Boys. They mentioned how it would be hilarious if someone like Homelander was afraid of bees. Not only would the side characters absolutely ridicule him, but Starr could finally add a piece of himself to a character who is nothing like him in real life.

Additionally, it would be right on brand for the series to have the mighty and strong Homelander be afraid of a bee, even though it is unlikely to penetrate his skin, let alone cause any harm.
