The time for sports entertainment’s biggest night is almost upon us as fans of professional wrestling gear up to sit and enjoy what WWE WrestleMania XL has to offer this year. And putting the star in the star-studded event, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will be making his in-ring return in the main match on the first night of the sporting event.
But before his match against The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins alongside the Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Johnson had a few words of gratitude and platitude to his fellow competitors and upcoming opponents.
While he may feel like this about his opponents and allies in the upcoming match, people still can’t seem to forget how the star mercilessly beat Rhodes two times in the past with a lifting belt.
The Rock Shares A Heartfelt Message For His Fellow WWE Superstars Ahead Of WrestleMania XL
The road to WrestleMania this year was filled to the brim with some of the most entertaining and intense developments in history, accentuated by the fact that Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as The Rock, made his return to WWE.
And so far, it has been nothing but one crazy night after another on both RAW and SmackDown for many weeks since then. And as WrestleMania XL is just hours away from beginning, Johnson has a couple of words for his fellow superstars and coming opponents.
Taking to his X, the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star wrote an appreciation post for the superstars of the WWE as well as the WWE Universe.
Stating that he has nothing but the utmost respect for his competitors and fellow wrestlers, he shows his gratitude to them as well as claims to match their intensity and charisma, he has pushed himself beyond in his 12-week training camp for his in-ring return. To highlight his efforts, he also shared a video from his YouTube Channel showcasing his hard work and dedication.
My 12 week training camp for #WrestleMania has been intense and unlike anything I’ve ever done.
Pushing myself physically, mentally and psychologically to places I’ve never gone. The men I’m wrestling this weekend at WrestleMania are the best in the world.
My respect for them…— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) April 5, 2024
While his respectful gratitudes may be genuine, people can’t seem to forget how The Rock ruthlessly beat The American Nightmare and his upcoming opponent Cody Rhodes in the last two weeks on Monday Night RAW.
How The Rock Beat Cody Rhodes Two Times In Two Weeks On Monday Night RAW
Despite Johnson showing respect and compassion for his fellow WWE Superstars, fans naturally haven’t forgotten how The Rock assaulted Rhodes on Monday Night RAW in the past two weeks before their inevitable match in Philadelphia at WrestleMania XL.
On the night of RAW on March 25th, a backstage brawl between The American Nightmare and members of The Bloodline took place, where Johnson came in on Rhodes’ blindside and started his assault. After taking this out of the building, The Rock rammed him into a bus nearby, making Rhodes bleed from his head and then beating him with a lifting belt.
Yet again, on the night of April 1st, when Seth Rollins was facing Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline, both Rock and Reigns started to beat Rollins to make him lose, only for Rhodes to make a surprise return to save his partner in the upcoming WrestleMania. But Rock and Reigns got a hold of them and lashed them with the lifting belt once more.
