It hasn’t been long since Destiny 2‘s major expansion, The Final Shape, dropped after a long wait. With it, the Light and Darkness saga finally came to an end.

Bungie hasn’t stopped there though, dropping more content to continue the narrative for players after the expansion events. According to public opinion, however, the studio doesn’t seem to be hitting the right notes.

Destiny 2 Episode Echoes Act 2 brings a ton of new things to do. From the official website:

Plunge into the depths of Nessus, take the fight into three new Battlegrounds, and meet the holder of the first Echo.

Bungie previously mentioned that the story will get considerably darker in Act 2. As the description mentions, there will be three new Battlegrounds for the story content: Delve, Conduit, and Core.

Embark on an adventure into recently activated Nessus wells, descend deeper and encounter a Radiolarium collection facility, and break through the crust of the planet to discover a thriving Vex city.

There will be three new bosses, but they aren’t releasing at the same time. While two come out now, the third will be dropped next week.

Of course, with new content, comes new rewards to enjoy. This time around, the Echoes of Power contains a snazzy Seasonal Armor Set, some gorgeous Season Armor Ornaments, and a Season Pass Exotic.

While there’s a ton of new content, Bungie probably should have kept this in the drafts for now.

Echoes Act 1 felt like a major set-back from the brilliance that The Final Shape is, and the second Act seems to follow a similar pattern. Players have not been hesitating in the slightest to tell Bungie their issues.

When Act 1 came out, one of the biggest complaints seemed to be that it was boring. Yep, just that it was boring. The new activities pailed in comparison to those during The Witch Queen.

It was too early to judge the narrative, and people were willing to give it a chance.

However, Act 2 seems to repeat much of the same problems that its predecessor had.

In fact, one player recommends that others not even bother logging on to try the new content.

That is, unless it’s to get a specific weapon. Then, they can go back to playing another game.

People seem tired of doing battlegrounds. Perhaps more variety would change minds. Narrative-wise, not much can be said as it’s hard to follow up with something as solid as The Final Shape.

If you’ve played through Echoes, we’d love to hear your opinion on them in the comments below!
