Rhaenys Targaryen’s dragon died in the year 10 AC, while Vhagar lived until 130 AC. This shows the age differences between the Vhagar and the other largest in the HOTD universe.
At the time of her death, Vhagar had grown to a size slightly smaller than Balerion (who was the largest Targaryen dragon since Aegon’s Conquest). Although there are no historical sources on the comparable references to the size of Meraxes from the Maesters.
