The season finale of House of the Dragon Season 2 just dropped, and it is safe to say that it showed a lot of new details more than the audience expected. The episode is unlike any typical ending that ends with a great battle scene; in fact, it concludes just as the battle begins.

It pains to wait for at least two years again, but Episode 8 had a lot of things that need to be dissected, one of which was Daemon Targaryen’s visions at Harrenhal. That part of the show seemed to have been going on forever, but the final chapter just gave fans one mind-blowing surprise.
Why Helaena Showed Up On Daemon’s Visions
Towards the middle of the final episode, Gayle Rankin’s Alys Rivers led Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen to the godswood to show him visions of the future. When the latter touched it, he started seeing what seemed like a montage of future events within House of the Dragon and in Game of Thrones.
There were a lot of exciting images that the Rogue Prince saw, and among them were the White Walkers, Daenerys Targaryen with her dragons, and Helaena Targaryen. Perhaps Phia Saban’s character was the most unexpected part of the visions because she never had any connection with Daemon.

Why was Helaena in Daemon’s hallucinations, anyway? She is known to be speaking in riddles and prophecies all the time and this is what she said: “It’s all a story, and you’re but one part in it. You know your part. You know what you must do.”
The next scene saw her staring into the distance and it’s evident that she wears the same clothes as she did when she appeared in Daemon’s vision. This hints that Helaena could be speaking to Daemon on purpose or that exact imagery that Daemon saw was also appearing in Helaena’s prophetic dreams.
It is difficult to tell at this point, but one thing’s clear: the queen could see things as they happen, as evident in her conversation with Ewan Mitchell’s Aemond and how she saw the Prince Regent burn King Aegon and left him incapacitated during the Battle at Rook’s Rest.
Is Helaena Actually Team Black In House Of The Dragon?

In the same episode, Queen Helaena is forced by Aemond to ride to battle with Dreamfyre, a move she doesn’t want to take part in. Among the Greens, she is the only one who has no interest in claiming the Iron Throne, but after her conversation with Daemon, it seems like there’s a hint that she’s Team Black all along.
It doesn’t look like she’s going to ride her dragon and fly to war anytime soon as she never actually did in George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood. Since the beginning of the show, viewers have been very protective of Helaena and now that she has given some sort of warning to Daemon, it can’t be helped to think that her true allegiance lies with the Blacks.
