The popular manga series Mashle: Magic and Muscles came to an end after the release of 162 chapters on July 3, 2023. The chapters were published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
After the release of the 162nd chapter, the publishing company, Viz Media, released the 18th and final volume of the manga series on October 4, 2023, along with a special handbook for its fans.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles, created by Hajime Kōmoto, follows the adventures of a young man named Mash Burnedead. Regardless of living in a world filled with magic users, Mash has no magical abilities of his own.
However, he has trained his body to become incredibly strong and muscular. When people try to attack Mash for his lack of magic, he is able to defend himself. Mash then makes a deal with these individuals and ends up enrolling at the prestigious Easton Magic Academy.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles Had A Surprising Twist In Its Final Chapter
The climactic final chapter of Mashle: Magic and Muscles (chapter 161) saw the villainous Innocent Zero use his powers to undo all the destruction he had caused throughout the storyline. This even brought back to life all the characters who had fallen in battle.
Because of all this, Mash’s heart returned to his chest, restoring him to full health. Several months later, it was revealed that Mash would be the first person without any magical abilities to be named a Divine Visionary, one of the most respected mages in the land.

In the last chapter, we see Mash preparing for this prestigious ceremony. However, when Chapter 162 arrives, we find out that Mash had actually decided not to accept the promotion after all.
It turns out Mash was simply happy that this magic-focused society had come to accept someone like him, who does not have any magical powers. At the same time, his true dream was to open his own bakery and make the best cream puff in the whole world.
That is why, instead of becoming a Divine Visionary, Mash turned down the invitation and went on to have many more happy adventures with his friends.

The end of the beloved Mashle: Magic and Muscles was an emotional time for fans. Readers had grown quite attached to the story and the protagonist, Mash, and hoped the adventures could have continued a bit longer.
