Masters of the Air Is The Follow-Up To Band Of Brothers And The Pacific
Originally developed by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, Masters of the Air will be the follow-up series to the Emmy-winning World War II series, Band of Brothers and The Pacific. Based in the Air aka about Air Force bomber boys in WWII, the series was originally under HBO but then was brought by Apple (via Deadline).
Based on the book called Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany, by Donald L. Miller, the series will be Apple’s first in-house production. The nine-episode series will focus on the aerial wars that happened during the decisive war and will tell the story through the eyes of Eight Air Force aka the Mighty Eight, who are said to have brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep (via The Hollywood Reporter).
While Spielberg, Hanks, and Gary Goetzman will be serving as the Executive Producers, the script is developed by John Orloff, aka the mind behind Band of Brothers. Officially in development since 2013, the series reportedly took more than $250 million to develop and produce (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Streaming exclusively on Apple TV+, the first two episodes of the series will premiere globally on January 26 and will air every Friday till the 15 of March 2024. Having an excellent cast starring Elvis’ Austin Butler as Major Gale Cleven, and Fantastic Beast’s Callum Turner as Major John Edgan, it also stars Saltburn’s Barry Keoghan, Sex Education’s Ncuti Gatwa, Anthony Boyle, and many more.
A compelling story of the 100th Bomb Group, also called Bloody Hundredth, it retells a gut-wrenching and epic story of men grappling with extreme conditions as they combat over 25,000 feet up in the air conducting extensive bombing raids.
