Well, not entirely new, A Quite Place actress reminisced about the time the two came together in the epic sci-fi thriller that took over the world in 2014. Despite nearly killing her stunt master co-star, the actress is leaving the past behind and hoping to dive headfirst into this thrilling new opportunity.

During her appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with host Josh Horowitz, the actress couldn’t help but drop a subtle hint about the highly-anticipated sequel. During her appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, Emily Blunt discussed a range of topics, including the film Edge of Tomorrow and its potential sequel. In the interview, she made it clear that she is not one of those obstructing the process of the much-anticipated sequel for the fans who are hoping to see them together once again. She stated,

“I wish there could be [a sequel],–I mean, I would love to make it a reality but I just don’t know when or how. And how many Mission Impossibles does he [Cruise] need.”

In a lighthearted manner, Blunt teased Cruise, urging him to return to the side where he can portray a cowardly hero as brilliantly as he did before. With each repeating experience, he strives to outsmart the relentless attackers, with Emily Blunt’s character guiding him to become an unstoppable force on the battlefield.

Although Edge of Tomorrow didn’t feature the same jaw-dropping stunts as the MI franchise, it still had its fair share of intense moments for the action hero Tom Cruise. According to the Daily Mail, during the filming of a challenging driving scene,  The Devil Wears Prada actress suggested increasing the speed to make it work, and despite Cruise’s reservations, he decided to take the risk and go with it. Blunt stated,

“I tear down this part and Tom’s being very quiet behind me I hear him under his breath as I approach the right-hand turn, going ‘Brake, brake, brake. Brake. Brake, brake, brake… Oh God. Brake, brake, brake. Brake it hard! Brake hard!’–I left it too late, and so drove us into a tree … I almost killed Tom Cruise.”

Although the possibility of the iconic duo reuniting for the sequel remains uncertain, fans are awaiting their return.
