Director Chad Stahelski delivered what is said to be the best of the John Wick series in March 2023, for which he had a hefty budget of $100 million. With 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.5/10 on IMDb, the movie is been critically acclaimed and has done spectacularly in its opening weekend, and done justice to the budget allotted.

John Wick 4 recorded an astounding $73.3 million over the weekend and a global collection of $100 million, which dwarfs all the previous installments. Out of which, Keanu Reeves took home $15 million for his dark neo-noir performance in the movie, $5 million shy of the salary he took home for the first installment of The Matrix which was $10 million without royalties.

For the previous installments, Reeves took a salary between $ 1 million and $2 million in John Wick 1, $ 2 million to $2.5 million for John Wick 2, and John Wick 3.

Will Keanu Reeves Return for John Wick 5?

The future of John Wick 5 has become more concrete than it was before the release of John Wick 4. A recent interview of Lionsgate’s Joe Drake with The Hollywood Reporter mentions interesting details of the prequel and how it is no longer off the table. However, the 4th installment concludes the debatable demise of John Wick which makes the appearance of Keanu Reeves unsure.

However, Lionsgate’s Joe Drake has made a few statements that John Wick 5 and Reeves could be a thing and only time will tell. Here is what he said:

“There’s a will and there’s an openness. And you could certainly interpret that ending in different ways,”. “We’re all going to take a tiny rest here and then scratch at ideas about whether there’s a credible way to get into five. But there’s no guarantee.”

Fans are now excited about the two spin-offs that Lionsgate has confirmed. The Ballerina with Ana De Armas as the lead role was teased in John Wick 4 and has almost done with the shooting. On the other hand, The Continental is a TV show which is set to be a prequel to the Wick series and narrates the storyline for Winston, rumor has it that there could be a young John Wick as well. Both the spin-offs are set to release in late 2023 or early 2024.
