After James Gunn shared the trailer, Kumail Nanjiani, who plays Kingo in the MCU, retweeted James’ tweet with the caption

“Goodness. There will be laughs and smiles and fist pumps, but mostly there will be tears. There will be tears.”

Upon seeing the retweet James thought that Kumail was referring to the movie in the caption, hinting about the tragedies that occur in the story that will make the audience cry. James Gunn then replied to the retweet writing-

However, the Eternals‘ star later clarified that he was only referring to the trailer and not the movie. He also stated that Gunn has committed a mistake and now people know that the movie too contains elements that will make them cry. Nanjiani also added that Kevin Feige, the MCU boss will not be happy about this misstep and will be “pissed”.

“I’m just talking about the trailer, James. But you’ve now unknowingly revealed the movie itself will also have tears. Huge misstep! Kevin will be pissed.”

The confusion and misunderstanding between the two of them caused the spill and now due to Nanjiani’s caption and James’ reply, fans are skeptical that the movie is going to have something tragedic.

Kevin Feige’s Reaction to James Gunn’s Spoiler

Kumail Nanjiani has suggested that James Gunn’s spoiler may have consequences, as he believes that Kevin Feige, the head of the Marvel Studios will be “pissed” about the reveal, and fans too somewhat agree with the statement.

Recently, another highly anticipated MCU film, Ant-Man 3 was spoiled due to leaks, causing havoc among the MCU fandom. Although the spoiler revealed by Gunn is not as significant as the Ant-Man leak, Feige is known for his tight-lipped approach regarding MCU movies. These types of incidents where a movie gets spoiled are sure to get on his nerves.
